Good News Day Camp
The Lord can use you to reach the children this summer!
You have the opportunity of giving one to three weeks of your summer to serve the Lord at Good News Day Camp!
What is Good News Day Camp?
Good News Day Camp is a week-long program that begins at 9:00 a.m. and runs until 2:30 p.m. It is for children ages 5 through 13. The purpose of camp is to reach the children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each day, the children get to listen to a Bible lesson, learn a memory verse, and learn how to have a personal quiet time with the Lord. We also invite a missionary to come and share with the children the importance of reaching individuals from other countries with the Gospel. We have many recreational activities for the children to enjoy as well.
This Year’s Camps:
Mifflinburg: July 8-12, 2024
Port Ann: July 22-26, 2024
White Deer: August 5-9, 2024
How can you help reach the children at camp?
Isaiah 43:10 states, “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen…” You can be a witness for Jesus Christ this summer by sharing God’s Word with the children of Snyder and Union Counties.
Bible Teacher – The Bible Teacher gets to teach the children from God’s Word every day.
Junior Counselor – The Junior Counselor has the opportunity to interact with the children one-on-one. Their responsibilities include greeting campers, taking attendance, helping the children learn their memory verse, and assisting the Senior Counselors.
Senior Counselor – The Senior Counselor is responsible for the children assigned to his group. They oversee these children during their personal quiet time and review the memory verse with the children each day.
Craft Director – The Craft Director works with the children during craft time and helps them explore their creativity and learn how to express themselves.
Nurse – The Nurse cares for the children while they are at camp.
Recreational Director – The Recreational Director has the privilege of teaching the children the importance of team work and friendly competition.
Sponsor – The cost of a child to attend camp is $20.00. You can help by sponsoring a child so that they can attend camp.
Support Staff – There are many opportunities to assist in craft, in recreation activities, and in counseling the children one-on-one.
If you are interested in applying to help at one of our camps, please call our office at (570) 837-6985 or e-mail us to receive an application. Our Camp Staff Training will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2024. If you are planning to help at one or more of our camps, plan to attend this meeting.
5-Day Club
What is taught at a 5-Day Club?
A 5-Day Club is a Bible club that is held for one hour each day for five consecutive days. It is for all children ages 5 to 12. There is no cost for the children to attend a club. An optional missionary offering will be taken each day.
Each day the children are taught a visualized Bible lesson, a memory verse, a continuing missionary story, missionary emphasis, songs, and games. The entire hour’s teaching is built around the spiritual needs of boys and girls. The Bible lesson presents the Gospel message for the unsaved children and a spiritual application for the saved children. The exciting missionary story is designed to guide the children’s interest to people of other lands, providing opportunity for God’s call to the mission field.
Who does the teaching?
Most of our clubs are taught by our summer missionaries, who have received specific training from CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF EASTERN PA, INC. to teach these clubs.
Where are 5-Day Clubs held?
Currently, our clubs are held in homes, in backyards, on porches or decks, in daycares and churches, and other locations where children can gather together to hear God’s Word.
