Good News Club
What is Good News Club?
A Good News Club is a Bible Club for children ages 5 through 12. It is held for one hour each week throughout the school year from October through April. For one hour, the boys and girls will gather together with their friends to hear a Bible lesson, which will apply God’s Word to what is happening in their lives. Along with the Bible lesson, we will sing songs, memorize Bible verses, and play a review game, as well as, share an exciting missionary story and have a missionary emphasis about several missionaries serving the Lord today. An opportunity will be given for the children to receive Jesus as their Saviour.
Our desire and goal are to share the Gospel with the children and challenge the saved child to from in their walk with the Lord. To do this, we have a five-year curriculum which is designed to teach through the Bible.
Where do Good News Clubs meet?
Currently, we have Good News Clubs meeting in homes, Bible churches, and schools. Most of the open doors for Good News Clubs are in the public schools. We hold these clubs immediately after school in the school building. We call it an After School/In School Good News Club. The schools where we currently have an After School/In School Good News Clubs are:
Kelly Elementary School
Mifflinburg Elementary School
Selinsgrove Intermediate School
White Deer Elementary School
For a child to attend one of these clubs, he/she can obtain a permission slip from their school office or our office. It must be filled out by a parent or guardian and returned to their school office. If you are interested in signing your child up for one of these clubs, please call our office at (570) 837-6985 or e-mail us, and we will send you the permission slip or check with your school office.
Who will teach these clubs?
Christians who are concerned about the spiritual needs of boys and girls can volunteer to teach or host a Good News Club. They are trained by Child Evangelism Fellowship of Snyder and Union Counties, Inc. through our Teacher Training Class so they can be equipped to have a club that is exciting for the children and effectively teaches God’s Word to the child. We will provide the materials needed to teach a club and to help the teachers. Teachers are asked to sign our Statement of Faith and agree to abide by the policies of our organization. Adults working with this program are screened and have the state-required child abuse clearances.

Released Time Class
What is Released Time Class?
Pennsylvania law allows for public school students to be released from class for religious instruction for one hour each week. This is a great opportunity to reach otherwise unchurched children with the Gospel and to encourage and disciple children who have already trusted Christ as their Saviour.
These classes are NOT sponsored by the school district but by CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF SNYDER & UNION COUNTIES, INC.
The students must have written parental permission to attend. They are then transported to a nearby church.
Bible lessons are taught in a variety of ways, including traditional favorite flannelgraph. In this age of technology and videos, flannelgraph still captures the attention of the children in a unique way. Other Bible lessons are presented with flashcards. We also teach a memory verse, songs, and sometimes a missionary story.
We have Released Time Classes at Middleburg Elementary School and West Snyder Elementary School.
To receive a permission slip or to become involved in helping at a Released Time Class, please call our office at (570) 837-6985 or e-mail us.
